2.Amalgamation Separation:
Amalgamation method can be two kinds-inner amalgamation and outer amalgamation according to their production method. It always adopt amalgamation separation in placer gold mining to get the separation of gold and heavy minerals. However, in vein gold mining, the amalgamation separation is usually used as part of a united gold upgrading process with flotation, gravity separation and cyaniding method. And it is mainly used to promote collection of coarse single body gold.

Inner amalgamation carry out in amalgamation cylinder or grinding machine with better control of mercury pollution. The main equipment of outer amalgamation is amalgamation board, which consists of the bracket, bed and mercury board. The mercury board can be red copper board, copper board with silver plating and mercury board. The silver-plated board has the best amalgamation effect. The copper board is always cut into small blocks(Width:400-600mm, Length:800-1,200mm)for the purpose of plating siver and changing easily. After plating silver, lay the small blocks on the bed surface according to the bracket tilt direction. The Mercury board area is decided by the ore processing capacity, the ore nature, and the role by amalgamation in gold process. Typically, if the depth of the slurry stream in the mercury surface of the plate is 5 to 8mm and the flow rate is 0.5 to 0.7m/sec, the board area of processing one ton ore shell be 0.05 to 0.5 m2/t/day. If using amalgamation is only for the collection of large particles of free gold, and tailings need for flotation, gravity separation and cyanide, the indicator can be set at 0.1 to 0.2 m2/t/Days.
