Gold Separation Method--3.2 Zinc Wire Replacement

Gold Separation Method--3.2 Zinc Wire Replacement

2) zinc wire replacement method

The basic principle of the zinc wire replacement is the reaction of zinc and gold-bearing cyanide leaching solution, and gold is changed into the metallic state by zinc and precipitation: 2Au (CN) 2 - + Zn ═ 2Au + Zn (CN) 42 -

Zinc wire replacement is carried out in the settling tank (commonly known as the Golden Cabinet). The zinc wire replacement precipitate box is aexposure rectangular box made of wood, steel or cement with length 3.5-7m; wide 0.45-1m; depth 0.75-0.9m. The box is divided into several (5 to 20) cells by transverse partition wall, with a partition within each. The first cell is used for clarification of the gold-bearing solution and addition of cyanide (to improve cyanide concentration of the solution); the last cell is for gold mud taken away by the solution; the rest of the grid are placed with a iron frame with 6 to 12 mesh and equipped with zinc wire on the sieve. Such a structure can help the gold-bearing solution to flow through each grid equipped with zinc wire from front to rear. The handle is fixed to the sieve. Gently lift up and down regularly and make zinc wire loose and gold mud down to the bottom from the zinc wire. Gold mud is usually discharged 1 or 2 times a month, and the outfall is blocked with wooden box. The gold mud is smelting raw material.
