Forui Manganese Separation Cases

Manganese exists widely in nature, and it is almost covered for each mineral and silicate stone. The common manganese ore is manganese oxide and manganese carbonate with or without water. There are about 150 kinds of manganese ore, but there is about 5 or 6 ores of rich manganese among which the most important and most economical manganese ores are pyrolusite, psilomelane while the other three are manganite, braunite, hausmannite, rhodochrosite. As kind of important industrial mineral, the Mn content is 50-70% in these ores.

For most of manganese oxide mine, manganese can be in form of blocks or granules, so the first step is to liberate the manganese inlay of blocks or granules from the impurities with the right iron concentrator. In the mixture of manganese and impurities, density of manganese is much bigger than that of impurities, so gravity separation can be a great choice to get the manganese concentrate. And the working flow of manganese upgrading plant can be crushing-vibration screening-jigging separation-dewatering.

As kind of weak magnetic ore, the basic beneficiation methods for manganese ore are mainly gravity separation and intensity magnetic separation even though there are many kinds of manganese ores.

The gravity separators mainly refer to jig separators, and sometimes shaking tables. But considering small handling capacity and feeding size limitation of shaking table, it can not be used in large scale manganese separation. And here jigger is the widely used concentrating machine for manganese ore. Jigger for big blocks ore makes gravity separation more common. Jig works on basis of density difference between useful mineral and gangue with its high efficiency, energy-saving, large feeding size, and environment-friendly.
